I woke up just as the sun was beginning its rise over Samarinda. Next to me, Cole was still asleep. I padded softly to the bathroom and took a quick shower, washing myself with the soap I realised had left that intoxicating pine scent on his skin. I dressed in the bathroom and contemplated whether I should wake him before I left, but he was up when I opened the door and peered out.

He was standing in front of the coffee maker, nude, scooping freshly ground Sumatran beans into the basket. "Did you really own a shark diving company?"

I smiled. "I did."

"Wow." He shook his head, a playful look in his eyes. "You know, I'm probably not like the other guys you do this with. I'm not married, not attached. I'm an actual gay chap. And, Erik, you are one of the most interesting men I have ever met in my life. Is there any chance I could get an email or mobile number from you?"

I couldn't hold back my laugh. He already knew my answer, but I had to give the guy credit for taking the risk. "Not a chance."

He chuckled, the sound so much like Kiernan's laugh that my chest hurt. "That's what I figured. Coffee before you go? Or perhaps an encore presentation of last night?" He arched an eyebrow and I lost it laughing. I liked this guy. If it had been even six days earlier I would have considered breaking all my rules to give him a chance.

"I should go." I grabbed his ass and gave him one last kiss as I walked by. "It's been lovely, Cole. Safe travels."

"Likewise." He said as the door clicked shut behind me.
